House of Anubis is an American/British teen drama mystery TV series based on the Dutch TV series Het Huis Anubis that aired in the Netherlands. The series was originally created by Hans Bourlon and Gert Verhust. Currently, House of Anubis plays on Nickelodeon. Moreover, the series is filmed overseas, and is considered as the first soap opera created by Nickelodeon that is aimed at children and teenagers.
House of Anubis is a building dating from the 1890s and is the home for yen teenagers under the watch of a strict caretaker, Victor Rodenmaar Jr. Then suddenly a resident disappears without warning and the school staff eliminate the existence of the resident from the school. Since then, students are forced to deal with the loss of a classmate, roommate, and friend. But, weird and out of the ordinary things continue to happen to the group.
Youth Television News commended Nickelodeon’s attempt at a drama series saying “a good story always outdoes a repetitive sitcom”. Currently, House of Anubis brings in 2.9 million viewers and is ranked #1 among all broadcast and basic cable programs in its time slot for all pre-teen and teen demographics.
House of Anubis features Nathalia Ramos, Brad Kavanagh Jade Ramsey, Ana Mulvoy Ten, Bobby Lockwood, Tasie Dhanraj, Eugene Simon, Alex Sawyer, Klariza Clayton, Burkely Duffield and Alexandra Shipp. House of Anubis is also produced by Anja Van Mensel, and Tony Wood in association with Studio 100, Lime Pictures, and Nickelodeon Productions.
