Launched in 2009 as part of the American Black Film Festival (ABFF), the goal of the Star Project is to provide a platform to spotlight talented, yet undiscovered actors, while supporting their career advancement.” Andrew Asare, publicist.

The American Black Film Festival is held annually in Miami Beach.
