Brad Pitt reveals that he doesn’t feel safe without having a gun to protect his family.
Angelina Jolie’s A-List husband, Brad Pitt, loves his guns. Pitt told a British radio and television weekly show, Radio Times, that his father “instilled” in him, “a profound and deep respect for the weapon”. Apparently, at a young aged he owned a shotgun and was firing handguns by age eight.
Brad Pitt told The Independent that, “there’s a rite of passage where I grew up of inheriting your ancestors’ weapons.” Brad Pitt explained, “My brother got my dad’s. I got my grandfather’s shotgun when I was in kindergarten.”

In case you didn’t know Brad Pitt was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Jane Etta a school counsellor, and William Alvin Pitt, who ran a trucking company. The family soon moved to Springfield, Missouri, where he lived together with his younger brother and sister.

He went on to say that he believes having a gun to protect his family. “It’s very strange, but I feel better having a gun,” he said. “I don’t feel the house is completely safe if I don’t have one hidden somewhere. That’s my thinking, right or wrong.”

Currently, Brad Pitt is touring across the U.K. for his new movie, Fury, where Pitt plays an U.S. Army seargent leading a fight against Nazi Germany. “Maddox knows so much about tanks that when we first started on the movie, I was asking him for information,” Pitt told Radio Times.
