Showtime has renewed their Sunday Night Dramas. Homeland Season 5 and The Affair Season 2 will be returning in 2015.
Homeland is currently Showtime’s hit original TV series, despite failing to win several Emmys in the past few seasons. Homeland is an American political thriller television series developed by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa based on the Israeli series Hatufim, which was created by Gideon Raff. Homeland centers around Carrie Mathison a CIA director who has to balance a mental disorder while trying to find the terrorists that plan on destroying America. “In its fourth season, Homeland has brilliantly reinvented itself,” said Showtime Networks president David Nevins. Homeland features Claire Danes, and Mandy Patinkin.

The Affair is a new series to the Showtime lineup. The new series has done well in ratings and critics have praised the new TV series for the show’s storyline drama and excellent acting. The Affair centers around the psychological effects of an affair between a married waitress at a Hamptons diner and a teacher who spends his summer at his in-laws’ estate on the island. The Affair features Dominic West (The Wire), Ruth Wilson, Maura Tierney.
