Today is the last day of filming for The Walking Dead Season 5.
According to reports, the cast and crew of The Walking Dead are expected to wrap up filming for the season on Friday, November 21st. This week they have been filming scenes inside the large wall around the Gin Property in Senoai, GA that they began building last summer. It looks like this is where most of the second half of the season will be set.
Last season The Walking Dead wrapped up filming just before Thanksgiving so it make sense the series planned on finishing before Turkey day.
While The Walking Dead is on hiatus, the graphic novel writer and producer Robert Kirkman is currently working on the show’s spin-off. Details surrounding the spin-off have not been released. However, the new series will be center around the zombie apocalypse on a new area outside of Georgia. It will follow a new group of people through the same zombie apocalypse, and maybe feature the first days of the pandemic.
Millions of people love The Walking Dead and has been nominated for many awards, including the Writers Guild of America Award and the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Drama. It has also attained strong Nielsen ratings, surpassing various records for a cable series, including viewership of 17.3 million for its season five premiere, making it the most-watched drama series telecast in basic cable history.
The Walking Dead season 6 should start filming in early May 2015.
