Jennifer Lawrence New Movie ‘Joy’ Headed to Boston

Jennifer Lawrence’s new movie ‘Joy’ is headed to Boston, Massachusetts.

Last year there were rumors that the cast of American Hustle were reuniting for a new movie. According to reports, those rumors are true. David O. Russell, the director of American Hustle is tackling a new movie centering around the rise of Miracle Mop inventor and QVC regular Joy Mangano.

According to our sources in the Boston area, where they movie is set to be filmed, a casting call was sent out last week for Joy, with a filming date of Feb. 9.

This will be the first movie for Jennifer Lawrence, who will star as Mangano, since wrapping Mockingjay — Part 2 in April. Joy will also feature Jen’s American Hustle/Silver Linings Playbook co-stars Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper, who is committed to The Elephant Man on Broadway through Feb. 21. De Niro is working on another project, Dirty Grandpa, which is currently filming in Atlanta, Georgia..

Joy marks the third movie Russell has made in Boston in recent years. American Hustle and The Fighter were both filmed in Massachusetts, too.
