E! Pulls the Plug on the ‘Fashion Police

Date:

E! pulls the plug on the ‘Fashion Police’ until September 2015.

According to reports, the E! network is putting the fashion show on hold for several months following harsh criticism and several key hosts quitting the show.

“E!’s comedy series ‘Fashion Police’ is going on hiatus and will return in September,” the network said in a statement. “We look forward to taking this opportunity to refresh the show before the next awards season. Our talented co-hosts Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski, along with executive producer Melissa Rivers, will continue their roles as we evolve the show into its next chapter for the legions of ‘Fashion Police’ fans around the world.”

The show came under scrutiny after Kathy Griffin announced she was leaving the show after only working a few months as Joan Rivers’ replacement. Several weeks later Kelly Osbourne also left the show after co-host Giuliana Rancic said actress Zendaya’s dreadlocks at the Oscars probably smelled like “patchouli oil” or “weed”.

Griffin later appeared on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show to say she “probably shouldn’t have taken the gig.”
