‘Star Wars’ Live Action TV Series Coming Soon

Date:

Disney is considering making a live action ‘Star Wars’ TV series for TV.

When Marvel announced that they were creating Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. it was considered a big deal because it was the first time an ongoing TV series would join an ongoing film series. This would allow for the two storylines to interconnect between two different mediums, TV and movies. It was a huge risk for the Marvel franchise that ultimately paid off. Now, Disney is considering expanding the Star Wars Universe with a live action TV series.

From Cinelinx:

We’ve heard for a while that Disney has been actively trying to get a Star Wars live-action series off the ground, and the fact that this news is popping up again means something changed or was figured out. This sent me digging for more and I’ve come up with some information on the development of the series that you may find interesting.

I’ll warn you now, it’s nothing Earth-shattering (like plot info or start date), but it does show us about where they are in the process, why we’re hearing about it now, and the liklihood that we won’t see it anytime in the near future. I’ve heard from a couple sources now that until the film schedules have all been ironed out (we’ve got at least two movies getting that sorted now), the show is in a holding pattern.

The report goes on to say that the TV show will show connect the storyline between movies, thus allowing for Disney to re-use sets.

It may take a few more years before the TV series hits your living room. But, it is going to happen. But, will people get sick of all the different Star Wars storylines, TV shows, and movies?
