Norman Reedus’ son refused to audition for ‘Spider-Man’ because he didn’t want to ‘ruin his life’.
Norman Reedus may kick butt on ‘The Walking Dead‘ but, many people don’t know that he is also a loving father. Reedus has an adorable kid with his ex, former supermodel Helena Christensen. His son, Mingus Reedus is actually pretty popular in Hollywood. Sony Pictures recently offered Mingus Reedus the biggest role in Hollywood right now, the role of Spider-Man but, Mingus revealed turned that role down.
Norman Reedus told the Phillippine Daily Inquirer how his son was not interested in the Spider-Man role.
“We got this call because they are going to make a new ‘Spider-Man,’ and he’s like 14 or 15. They asked, ‘Would Mingus want to audition for ‘Spider-Man?’ He’s had a couple of these calls, and he always said no to all of them.”
Mingus didn’t decline Spider-Man out of disrespect for the character. It turns out Mingus Reedus has no desire whatsoever to become an actor.
I asked him, Do you want to audition?’ He asked, ‘What part?’ I said, ‘I think you’d be Spider-Man.’ He said, ‘No, I don’t want to ruin my life.’ I went, ‘What do you mean?’ He said, ‘I don’t want to be famous.’
I’m pretty sure Mingus has noticed the toll it has taken on his father, who recently moved because fans of ‘The Walking Dead’ found his house and began stalking him.
