Chris Pratt and Melissa McCarthy share their first head shot and the stories behind the photos.
Before Chris Pratt starred in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘ and way before Melissa McCarthy starred in ‘Bridesmaids‘, they were both two working actors just trying to make it with a decent headshot.
Both comedians visited ‘The Graham Norton Show’ and discussed their first headshots and the stories behind the photos.
Chris Pratt said he was in a West Hollywood post office when a man approached him about taking his picture: “This guy was like, ‘you look familiar, have I shot you?’ and I was like ‘I’ve never been shot.'” The man offered to photograph Pratt, he accepted and was given the photos.
“I have no idea how you got those,” McCarthy told host Graham Norton in reference to her two headshots. “I literally thought I had the only two hard copies and when you sent them to me I thought, ‘dear god, they’re out there.'”
McCarthy revealed her commercial agent suggested she take character photos, which resulted in a headshot of her with her tongue out, granny glasses and awful hair.
“I’m in like a full sweat,” McCarthy said when Norton revealed the second photo, which showed McCarthy with a short-haired wig, miniature cowboy hat and dangly cowboy boot earrings. “That is from western Barbie. I took her hat – it’s a cowboy hat from Barbie — and boots. I made earrings.”
