Critics, fans, and moviegoers all hate Adam Sandler’s new movie ‘Pixels’
Adam Sandler is not having the best year ever.
Adam Sandler initially caught heat after Native American actors walked off the set over its apparently offensive script, in which native american characters were given ridiculous names like “No Bra” and “Beaver’s Breath” and asked to do things like urinate while smoking a peace pipe. There have even been reports that actors were forced to use makeup to darken their skin tone instead of hiring actual Native American actors.
Now, his new movie ‘Pixels’ is ranked as one of the worst movies on Rotten Tomatoes.
Before we go into what critics and fans think about the new ‘Pixels’ movie, allow me to explain what the movie is actually about. Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Josh Gad, and Peter Dinklage team up to save the world from 1980s video game aliens that try to take over the world. Now, that’s out of the way- critics hate the movie.
‘Pixels’ currently has a 13% rating on Rotten Tomatoes with a majority of critics calling it, “Much like the worst arcade games from the era that inspired it, Pixels has little replay value and is hardly worth a quarter.” Ouch.
To add insult to injury, Adam Sandler’s last movie ‘The Cobbler’ had one of the worst box office release of 2015 so far with only $24,500 in box office sales.
The NYPost went so far to tell Adam Sandler that he should just give up already.
“As a kid, I’d go into the bathroom when I was having a tantrum,” Adam Sandler once admitted. “I’d be in the bathroom crying, studying myself in the mirror. I was preparing for future roles.”
Many years on, the former “SNL” comedian is still undoubtedly skilled at inducing tears — although these days, it’s usually his audiences that are left silently sobbing into their popcorn, after sitting through one of his ever-more egregious movies.
