Sony Pictures is Planning Two New ‘Bad Boys’ Movies

Date:

Sony Pictures has just announced that they are planning on releasing two new ‘Bad Boys’ movies by 2017 and 2019.

According to Variety, ‘Bad Boys 3’ is set to premiere on February 17th, 2017 and ‘Bad Boys 4’ on July 3, 2019.

The first two ‘Bad Boys’ movies starred Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, though it’s unknown whether those two actors are on board for the next two movies.

It would be extremely unfortunate if Will Smith and Martin Lawrence choose not to suit up for the sequels.

According to reports, Director Michael  Bay did not like the script and often engaged Smith and Lawrence in discussions about how the dialogue and scenes could improve. He often allowed them to improvise while the cameras were rolling. He secretly told Smith to call Lawrence a bitch before the car scene. The whole “two bitches in the sea” was improvised, as was Martin’s comment when Leoni called him gay.

According to Michael Bay in the DVD commentary of ‘Bad Boys’, at the end of the film when Mike and Marcus are finally digesting everything that happened, Mike says “I love you, man.”

However, Michael Bay claims that Will Smith refused to say the line, causing the director and actor to argue back and forth over the line. Michael Bay wanted Will  Smith to say the line as he felt it summed up the friendship between the cops.

After their argument had lasted for half of the day’s shoot, wasted millions of dollars and after  much of the crew was ready to pack up, a fed up Bay told Smith to do whatever he wanted, after which Smith changed his mind and agreed to say the line.

Sony Pictures also announced the release dates for several other movies including Jennifer Lawrence’s ‘Passengers’ film.
