Monologues are very important. It is the difference between landing a role and never getting a call back.

In theater and film, a monologue is presented by a single character and is often used to express their thoughts aloud, or directly address another character or the audience.

Arvold Casting is one of the biggest casting companies in the United States. The casting director and part time producer Erica Arvold recently gave out some amazing tips on what actor’s should do to prepare for an audition.

One of the best tips was what kind of monologue an actor should pick for an audition. More specifically, what is a casting director is looking for?

She sat down with acting coach Richard Warner to give some tips on what to look for and where to look for the perfect audition.
