Quentin Tarantino is sick of Hollywood.
Quentin Tarantino, whose upcoming Western is expected to win several Academy Awards, raised concerns when he based recent Oscar films, including two-time winner Cate Blanchett.
“Half of these Cate Blanchett movies — they’re all just like these arty things,” the filmmaker groused in New York magazine.
Quentin Tarantino’s highly anticipated feature film The Hateful Eight might be up against Cate Blanchett’s Carol, both movies distributed by Harvey Weinstein.
Quentin Tarantino also poked fun at Ben Affleck’s 2010 movie The Town saying everybody in it “is beyond gorgeous . . . The town whore, Blake Lively, is absolutely gorgeous.Jeremy Renner is the least gorgeous . . . and he’s pretty [bleeping] good-looking.”
The Hateful Eight’ takes place a few years after the Civil War and centers around a group of traveling strangers who are forced to take refuge together at a bar when a snowstorm hits the Wyoming countryside. Samuel L. Jackson, was recently asked what it was like shooting the movie with Quentin Tarantino and it sounds pretty amazing. He said the cast really bonded over the course of filming, and they’re still texting and referring to themselves as “The Haters”
‘The Hateful Eight’ will be released later this year and features Kurt Russell as John Ruth, Samuel L. Jackson as Major Marquis Warren, Jennifer Jason Leigh as Daisy Domergue, Michael Madsen as Joe Gage, Tim Roth as Oswaldo Mobray, Walton Goggins as Chris Mannix, Bruce Dern as General Sanford Smithers, and Demian Bichir as Bob.
