Georgia’s film industry took a major hit on Friday after VH1 and USA Network cancel two TV shows that filmed in Atlanta, Georgia.
VH1 Network’s Hindsight was canceled on Friday after the show suffered poor ratings. The series stars Laura Ramsey as Becca, a woman who on the eve of her second wedding in 2015, is transported back 20 years to the morning of her first wedding. The series was created by Fox, who produced with Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman.
USA Network’s Complications canceled the series after only one season on Friday. The show’s creator believed the show as going to be renewed for a second season. “The world has changed so much, but one thing we’ve demonstrated is we have an audience that comes back every week,” he said. “It’s just so hard to get attention, and what I would want to do is take the audience base that we have now and really reach out and aggressively go after more viewers who maybe didn’t see season one.” Starring Jason O’Mara, the Atlanta filmed production, centers around a doctor who gets involved in a gang war after the death of his daughter. The series was one of o two new summer offerings for USA Network. The other, the hit series Mr. Robot, was renewed for a second season hours before the show ever premiered.
