‘The King and I’ Broadway Kids Open Auditions in New York City.
Telsey and Company is holding an open casting call for new talent to work on Rodgers and Hammerstein’s ‘The King and I’ musical on Broadway.
Telsey and Company will be holding an open casting call in Los Angeles, California on September 8th.
The King and I is the story of Anna, an American governess, who tries to help an Eastern king to come to accept the modern world, but he is unable to resist the forces of ancient customs.
The conflict between Eastern and Western cultures inspired this well-loved musical, which has been revived professionally many times and is always a firm favourite with the public. The score includes “I Whistle A Happy Tune”, “Hello Young Lovers”, “Getting To Know You”, “Something Wonderful” and “Shall We Dance?”.
Casting directors are looking for children who can sing Prince Chulalongkong, boys ensemble, and girls ensemble. Producers are looking for singers between the ages of 5 to 16 to audition for the upcoming Broadway show.
To audition, please prepare 16 bars of a classical musical theater song showing range. Please bring sheet music for your song, a piano accompanist will be provided. Also bring your photo/resume stapled together.
