Jason Nemor Harden, born and raised in Houston, Texas, is an American-Icelandic stage and film actor, professional musician and playwright based in Umeå, Sweden. Standing 194 cm with a slender athletic build.
His stage career spans 13 years with leading and supporting roles across Scandinavia and beyond. Recent credits include Colin in “With the Possible Exception of Abraham Lincoln” performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2026 and Valle in the Swedish-language production “Ville Valle & Viktor” at Västerbottensteatern 2026. He has portrayed Abraham Lincoln (Colin), Martin Luther King Jr., Muhammad Ali, Paul Robeson, Gil Scott-Heron, and Malcolm X in productions at Nordic Black Theatre, Den Norske Opera & Ballett, and other venues.
On screen he has appeared in short films “The Shrewdly Goons” and “Ammonia & Bleach”. He has also made an appearance on an episode of the award winning podcast series *The Amelia Project* as the character Jesus H. Christ.
As a playwright, Harden has written three original works, two of which premiered at Nordic Black Theatre “Ol’ Man River: The Life Times and Music of Paul Robeson” and “Pieces of a Man: Words and Music of Gil Scott Heron” and the third “After the Dream: Martin Luther King Jr.” premiering at Den Norske Opera & Ballet. He frequently combines acting with live music performance, serving as saxophonist, keyboardist, vocalist, and co-arranger in many of these productions.
Parallel to his acting career, Harden is an active recording and performing musician. Under the name Jay Nemor he has released four studio albums plus numerous collaborative EPs and singles. He co-lead the project Kenya & Nemor and works regularly as a live and studio vocalist, saxophonist, songwriter, arranger, and producer.
A former professional basketball player, Harden brings that same discipline, drive and determination within the world of entertainment that allows him to push the limits when needed to get the job done. He is available for stage, screen, voice, and live-music engagements.
