Leonardo Survives Death and Comes Back for Revenge in ‘Revenant’ Trailer
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the new film from Alejandro G. Inarritu lookes amazing, even though it deals with upsetting subject matter. At this point, Innaritu has become one of the most interesting directors in history and this new move is one of the biggest productions he has ever made.
The Revenant is based on the true story of Hugh Glass. And while you can easily go to Wikipedia to learn Hugh Glass, you shouldn’t do it if you plan on watching The Revenant. The new trailer does a descent job at playing out the major plot lines and establishing the tensions between Hugh Glass, played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Joh Fitzgerald, played by Tom hardy. But it doesn’t really get into the crazy parts of the story. It is going to be interesting to see how far the movie is going to go, but if they even hit at some of the details, it is going to be one of the craziest movies to hit theaters this year.
One of the things this movie centers around is the culture of living in America during the earlier frontier times and while, The Revenant doesn’t look like any other movie we have ever seen before, something like that is not easy to pull off. Innaritu focused on realism instead of special effects to make the movie. A movie so realistic many of the crew members quit, were fired, or just got too sick to work on the production. Yup, this sounds like the perfect Christmas movie.
“The Revenant” is in theaters in limited release on Christmas Day.
