Melanie Tejeda Rodríguez

My name is Melanie Tejeda Rodríguez. I am a 24-year-old Cuban professional dancer, actress and singer with 8 years of international stage experience. I am currently Principal Dancer with the company Rakatan and a Theatre Arts student at the Higher Institute of Art (ISA) in Havana. I graduated from Cuba's National School of Art as a professional dancer and dance teacher, specialising in contemporary and folkloric dance. I have been Principal Soloist of Danza Contemporánea de Cuba, I have danced with MalPaso Dance Company, and I have worked with choreographers linked to Sasha Waltz. I have toured theatres in Mexico, France, Switzerland, Germany and Russia. I have also acted in the Netflix series Cuba Confidencial, in short films and in music videos. I complement my dance training with theatre (Acting profile at ISA), singing (intermediate level) and acrobatics (advanced level). I speak fluent English (C1), basic French (A2) and Spanish is my mother tongue. I am a versatile, disciplined and passionate performer. I am eager to bring my energy, my technique and my stage presence to new projects and to continue growing as an artist in an international context.
