Job Description:

Ink to Real Productions is casting lead, supporting, and day player roles for the upcoming non-union short film ‘Til We See the Sun, written and directed by Shanna Johnson. Filming will take place in Miami, Florida over three days in early September. The production is seeking talented South Florida local actors, with a strong emphasis on performers of Black, West Indian, and Caribbean descent. Certain roles require fluency in Haitian Creole or Jamaican Patois.

Job Responsibilities:

• Portray a lead, supporting, or day player role in the short film.
• Attend all scheduled rehearsals and filming dates.
• Deliver authentic performances while following the director’s creative vision.
• Collaborate professionally with the cast and production team.
• Perform stunt-related actions for applicable roles with a stunt coordinator on set.

Lead Roles

• Widnel: Male, 35–40, Black, West Indies/Caribbean. Proud Haitian American landscaper. Must speak Haitian Creole.
• Nadine: Female, 35–40, Black, West Indies/Caribbean. Jamaican American teacher. Must speak Jamaican Patois.

Supporting Roles

• Donovan: Boy, 12–16, Black, West Indies/Caribbean.
• Rosie: Female, 50–60, Black, West Indies/Caribbean. Must speak Haitian Creole.

Day Player Roles

• Mirlande: Female, 30–40, Black, West Indies/Caribbean. Must speak Haitian Creole. Stunt scene.
• School Administrator: Any gender, 35–45, any ethnicity.
• Troy: Male, 40–50, Black, West Indies/Caribbean. Must speak Jamaican Patois.
• Marc: Male, 30–40, Black, West Indies/Caribbean. Must speak Haitian Creole.
• Kervens: Male, 25–35, Black, West Indies/Caribbean. Must speak Haitian Creole.
• Parent: Female, 30–40, all ethnicities.
• Agent #1: Male, 30–40, African, Black, West Indies/Caribbean. Stunt scene.
• Agent #2: Male, 35–45, Eastern European, Hispanic, or White. Stunt scene.

Requirements:

• Available for filming in early September 2026 (3-day shoot).
• Fluency in Haitian Creole or Jamaican Patois is required for applicable roles.
• Comfortable performing stunt actions for designated roles (stunt coordinator provided).

Compensation:
