Shontaya Smedley

Shontaya Smedley was born in Australia and has trained in all styles of dance since she was the age of three. She has attended and graduated The American Ballet Theatre’s Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School in New York as well as Sydney Dance Company Pre-Professional Year where she received a Diploma of Professional Dance Elite Performance. Her career highlights include being the Company Manager and Dancer on the Inaugural Cast onboard Mitsui Cruise LineF1 dancer for ‘Step One Dance Company’ on Holland America Line with RWS Global, the ensemble dancer for the Australian Tour of ‘An American in Paris, The Musical’ by GWB Entertainment, the contemporary soloist on the Australian Tour of ‘Leap The Show’ by Amy Campbell and Neil Gooding Productions, The American Ballet Theatre’s productions of ‘Whipped Cream’ and ‘Swan Lake’ and The Australian Ballet’s production of ‘The Nutcracker’. She has done multiple contemporary projects all around Australia including various advertisements such as Netflix’s Squid Games Launch, Bath and Bodyworks and featuring music videos. She has also performed for The Pussycat Dolls Melody Thornton and Patti LaBelle as well as being a Guest Artist for The American Ballet Theatre’s International Spring Campaign. Some of Shontaya’s accomplishment’s include winning Overall National Champion Dancer in Australia and in the USA at competitions such as DanceLife Unite, Get the Beat, Starpower, Showstopper, KAR, etc. She was a Geneé Finalist and Geneé Bursary Recipient in Hong Kong and has been awarded an apprenticeship with Introdans Contemporary Company, Netherlands.
