Here’s the list of Porsche lawsuits after Paul Walker’s death.
Paul Walker’s father sued Porsche for negligence and wrongful death Wednesday over the 2013 accident that killed theĀ Fast & FuriousĀ movie star.
Paul Walker’s father filed the lawsuit arguing that the Porsche Carrera GT that his son was riding in lacked adequate safety features that could have saved the actor’s life.
The lawsuit also includes other pending lawsuit against the automaker over the crash that might have saved the actor’s life, including a stability control system, side-door reinforcements and a breakaway fuel line to help prevent the car from blowing up into flames after a car accident.
Paul Walker was on a break from filmingĀ Furious 7Ā franchise when he was killed. He was riding passenger side of a Carerra GT driven by a friend when the car spun out of control, hit several trees and burst into flames.
Earlier this month, Porsche stated in a court filing that the Carrera GT had already been altered and improperly maintained and those factors helped lead to Paul Walker‘s death.
Paul Walker’s daughter, Meadow Walker, criticized the filing through her attorney, claiming that the car was sold unsafe.
“If Porsche had designed the car to include proper safety features, Paul would have survived, he would be filming ‘Fast and Furious 8,’ and Meadow Walker would have the father she adored,” Milam wrote in a statement.
A police report by the California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department found that it was unsafe speed and not mechanical issues that caused the crash. In fact, investigators found that the car was traveling 94 mph before crashing into a tree.
