NBC Cancels ‘Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris’

Date:

NBC pulls the plug on ‘Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris'.

NBC has canceled Neil Patrick Harris TV show after only one season, according to reports.

The network still plans on working with the Winning through a previous deal between Prediction , Harris' production company.

The live TV program, which was based on the British  Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, featured stunts, performances, comedy sketches and celebrity appearances.

NBC has been actively creating more live such as The Wiz Live! and Best Time Ever in order to tap into more live viewers instead of having DVR and watch later. This comes after advertising dollars are more valuable with live TV programs in comparison to recorded TV shows.

However, unlike The Wiz Live! nobody really tuned in to watch Neil Patrick Harris. The TV series started with only 1.9 million viewers and quickly dropped to 1.3 million, which is not good news for any basic program.

Best Time Ever was Harris' return to TV following his nine-year run on How I Met Your Mother. But, the Emmy winning actor has had a ton of experience working as a host as he worked on the Tonys, and Oscars in the past.
