Job Description
An emotionally driven short film is seeking talented performers for lead and supporting roles. This powerful narrative explores identity, responsibility, and unintended consequences through the lens of a migrant laborer placed in an unfamiliar caregiving role. Filming will take place in Sydney, NSW, and offers actors the opportunity to collaborate on a story-rich, cinematic project designed for festival audiences. This is a character-focused short film ideal for actors looking to build meaningful screen credits and work on socially relevant material.
Job Responsibilities
- Portray authentic, emotionally grounded performances aligned with the script
- Collaborate closely with the director and cast to develop believable character dynamics
- Participate in rehearsals and scheduled shoot days as required
- Perform scenes that may involve heightened emotional or physical moments in a safe, professional environment
Requirements
- Lead Role (Taha): Male actors, ages 25–35, South Asian descent preferred; Nepali, Hindi, or Bangla language skills are a plus but not required
- Supporting Role (Isaac): Male child actors, ages 5–10, Caucasian; no prior acting experience required; must be comfortable performing a scripted choking scene under supervision
- Supporting Role (The Maid): Female actors, ages 18–35, African descent; must be comfortable with light VFX makeup
- Must be reliable, professional, and able to follow on-set direction
Compensation
