Job Description
An award-winning creative team is seeking talent for a proof-of-concept short film shooting in New York City. The production is casting a featured role for an elegant and intelligent Afro-Caribbean woman who serves as a mentor and guiding force within the story. This project offers actors the opportunity to collaborate on an independent film production with an experienced creative team.
Job Responsibilities
- Portray the character of Jeanne-Marie Palcy in a short film production.
- Participate in principal photography and an additional voice recording session.
- Work closely with the director and production team to bring the character to life.
- Attend scheduled rehearsals, recordings, and filming sessions as required.
- Deliver a compelling and authentic performance.
Requirements
- Black or Dominican female talent.
- Ages 60–80.
- Ability to portray Jeanne-Marie Palcy, an Afro-Caribbean archaeologist, socialite, and former professor.
- Preference will be given to actors from the Francophone Caribbean.
- Speakers of Haitian Creole, Antillean Creoles, Dominican Creole, or Saint Lucian Creole are encouraged to apply.
- Professional headshot and résumé required.
- Sizzle reel is preferred but not required.
- Must be available for filming and a separate voice recording session.
Compensation Details
- $100 compensation.
- Approximately 4-hour shoot.
- Additional voice recording session required on a separate day.
- Opportunity to work with an award-winning creative team on a proof-of-concept short film.
