Michaela Grace (Moye)

Michaela Grace is a classically trained ballerina from Newport News, Virginia, whose love for dance began almost as soon as she could walk. She started dancing at the age of three and had already declared her dream of becoming a ballerina almost as soon as she could talk. An only child raised by a single mother, Michaela learned early on the values of discipline, resilience, and giving her absolute best—qualities that continue to shape her artistry today. Michaela began her formal training at Northampton Dance Studios at age three under the direction of Debbi Evans Davidson. It was there she started her en pointe training. In January 2020, following the closure of the studio, she transitioned to Virginia Regional Ballet, where she trained under Heidrun Robitshek and Adelle P. Carpenter. Shortly after, the COVID-19 pandemic forced the studio into virtual instruction. Despite the challenges, Michaela’s mentality of always giving 110 percent allowed her to adapt, persevere, and emerge stronger both mentally and technically. Throughout her training, Michaela has performed numerous roles in The Nutcracker, including Party Girl, Columbine, Snowflake, Spanish, Lead Mirliton, Tirolese, Russian Lead, Waltz Demi Soloist, and, most notably, Klara in December 2022. Her additional performance credits include Fairy Tale to Fairy Tale and Alice in Wonderland. Michaela has also frequently performed traditional German dances throughout the community, sharing her artistry beyond the stage. In addition to performing, she choreographed two original works for a Student Choreographer Showcase, further developing her creative voice. She also spent four years as a competitive dancer, gaining valuable performance experience, versatility, and stage confidence. In January 2023, Michaela began private coaching with Heidrun Robitshek, deepening her technical foundation and artistic expression. In January 2024, she was honored to become an ambassador for So Danca USA. In October 2025, Michaela signed with Known Management Group, marking an exciting step forward in her professional journey. Classically trained with a strong foundation in the Vaganova method and exposure to Balanchine technique, Michaela is also trained in rhythm tap, jazz, character, contemporary, modern lyrical, and flamenco. She has further expanded her artistry through voice lessons with Ricky Rojas and master classes with renowned artists including Tiler Peck, Lacey Schwimmer, Norbert De La Cruz III, Claire Baulieu, Alexander Dutko, Rome Saladino, Nanako Yamamoto, Tamara “La Garbancito” Carson, and Donald Tolj. Known for giving 110 percent in everything she does, Michaela believes there is always room to grow as a dancer and continually strives to push herself toward new artistic heights.
