Sundance Film Festival starts with audience members walking out of Daniel Radcliffe’s new movie, Swiss Army Man.
One of the most anticipated movies at this year’s Sundance Film Festival has turned out to one of the most upsetting. According to reports, on Friday at the premiere of Swiss Army Man starring Daniel Radcliffe and Paul Dano, security was forced to turn away hundreds of movie fans and industry VIPS.
But, a few minutes later audience members kept standing up and heading for the door throughout the movie.
The movie centers around a lost man played by Paul Dano who becomes friends with a farting corpse. The Independent movie movie was directed by music video directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert starts with Radcliffe as a dead body washing onto a shore. Dano’s haracter inspects the dead body, as it comes to life by twitching and farting.

The story unfolds in a magical realist style and features long discussions about masturbation, isolation and the meaning of life. It also features a kiss between Dano and Radcliffe (who continues to flee his Harry Potter image by taking part in a reoccurring gag where his dead character maintains an erection).
“The chance to play a dead guy in this context was too much fun to pass up,” Radcliffe said in an audience Q and A.
Scheinert said the inspiration for the story was “a fart joke.”
