Should actors ask casting directors for lead roles in a TV show or movie?

Are you waiting to hear about the lead role you auditioned for and you don’t want to book anything else in the mean time?

Recently, Arvold Casting’s Erica Arvold recently revealed an inside tip on the film industry and answered the age old question: should actors ask about being upgraded from a non-speaking role to a speaking role?

In one word: No.

Arvold explains that casting directors are always considering to upgrade actors to bigger and larger productions.

So, actors shouldn’t have to worry about asking a casting director if they can get upgraded because casting directors are already considering it.
