Little House on the Prairie the movie is coming soon.
Paramount Pictures is producing a movie adaptation of “Little House on the Prairie,” the TV series based on Wilder’s series of books, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The movie will be directed by Sean Durkin and written by Abi Morgan. Casting is still underway for the new movie.
The TV series of Little House, aired for 9 years and was a huge hit for NBC. The show was originally written and directed by Michael Landon, who starred as Charles Ingals, the father of the family, with Melissa Gilbert playing Laura.
While the show as not completely based on the nine books that made up of the Little House on the Prairie series. The TV program was mostly inspired by On the Banks of Plum Creek, the fourth book in the series.
The Little House books were written for children and based on Wilder’s life. The first book in the series was published in 1932 and the final book was released in 1971, 14 years after the author’s death at 90.
