Born Ja’Van Jerrod Chandler in Rockford, Illinois, just outside Chicago, he displayed extraordinary artistic gifts from an early age. As a toddler, he bypassed traditional crawling and walking milestones to move with an innate sense of rhythm and performance. By age three, he spoke in complete sentences without babbling and soon revealed a smooth tenor voice reminiscent of a young Usher. In 2014, Ja’Van relocated to Atlanta to pursue higher education at the Art Institute of Atlanta, where he studied Audio Production and Fashion Design. He also serves as executive producer, stylist, and cast member on the hit series Fashion Craze. In 2022, alongside his fiancé, celebrity makeup artist R. Guy, Ja’Van co-founded the fashion brand Ja’Ro Amour. Born from their shared love story and creative synergy, the brand embodies androgynous style influenced by music, passion, and amour (love). The couple first collaborated on web series, fashion review shows, music showcases, and client styling for television, photoshoots, and videos. Their debut collection — featuring gowns, streetwear, accessories, and signature hats — launched to acclaim at Columbia Fashion Week in Winter 2022. Together, they envision expanding Ja’Ro Amour into a comprehensive fashion, beauty, and lifestyle empire. Ja’Van’s creative pursuits extend further into digital media and acting. A longtime admirer of drama from his high school theater days, he made his feature film acting debut in Jacksquad 2 (2023).
