Laura Osorio

Laura was born in Armenia, Colombia, into a family of musicians. Her love for singing began at a very young age, inspired by her father, who is also a singer. During her teenage years, her uncle—a double bassist—introduced her to jazz, and from that moment on, she fell deeply in love with the genre. Laura began her formal musical training at the Conservatory of the National University of Colombia, where she had her first encounter with classical music and opera. A few years later, she moved to Caracas, Venezuela, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Vocal Performance from UNEARTE. Early in her jazz career, she was awarded Best Jazz Singerat the New Generations Festival in Caracas in 2010. In 2012, Laura had the opportunity to perform both jazz and classical repertoire throughout Venezuela. She also participated in numerous concerts in Venezuela and Europe with the Orquesta Sinfónica Simón Bolívar de Venezuela, under the direction of Maestro Gustavo Dudamel, as a member of the Coral Nacional Simón Bolívar de Venezuela. In 2019, she moved to Barcelona, Spain, to pursue a Master’s degree in Classical Music Performance, graduating in 2020. Between 2020 and 2025, Laura continued to develop her artistic career in Europe, performing in various jazz and classical music festivals and concerts, including the New Generation Festival in Florence (2020) and the ArtJazz Festival in Elvas, Portugal (2024). She currently lives in Armenia, Colombia, where she co-founded the city’s first jazz club together with her family. She directs the club’s live music programming and performs there regularly, actively contributing to the growth of the local jazz scene.
