New App Gives Food and Drinks Away for Free for Actors, Models

Date:

A new app gives away free food and drinks for models and actors.

Having a ton of Instagram followers can get you just about anything these days, from free clothes to invites to prestigious events. Now, actors, models, and Instagram Famous celebrities can also get free meals from a new app called Into.

By signing up for the app, businesses essentially trades food, goods and/or services, for social media shoutouts from Instagram celebrities. If you only pay a $40 monthly fee.

“You get a list of all these places in Sydney that can give you free food and drinks,” a model with 11,000 Instagram followers tells news.com.au. “You show [the waitstaff] the offer on the app and you click redeem now and they swipe it through.”

Besides restaurants and bars offering a free burger, users can also get free personal training sessions, haircuts, hotel stays, and much more. The “unwritten rule” is that the influencers will then promote the business on their social media accounts, with the hope that their followers will follow.

Quick Warning: If you think your 300 followers on Instagram is going to get you a free lunch, then you are wrong. While Into is publicly available on iTunes, users have to be verified by their talent or modeling agency or approved by InTo before they can get full access to the app.

Into, which currently has about 600 users, is also available in Munich, Germany and will expand to Melbourne in March.
