Hani Mulungi

My name is Hani Mulungi, a 23-year-old screen actress, dancer, model, and visual creative based in Kampala, Uganda. I began my professional acting career in 2023 after completing my training at Actors Slot Academy, where I studied performance for both stage and screen with a focus on character development, camera work, and emotional authenticity. Since then, I’ve been building my presence in the Ugandan film industry, beginning with a featured role in the series finale of Sanyu, one of the country's most widely recognized television dramas. That experience opened the door for more screen work, including my lead role in the short film The Night Dancer, produced by DilStories. In this film, I portrayed a complex character navigating cultural identity and personal transformation—a role that pushed me emotionally and creatively. I also played a supporting character in the short film Sweets and Pepsi, where I had the opportunity to work with a diverse cast and further refine my on-camera technique. While my foundation is in acting, I bring additional creative strengths to my screen work. As a trained dancer and choreographer, I have a strong sense of body awareness and physical expression, which enhances my performance in roles requiring movement or stylized performance. I’m also a professional model, comfortable in front of the lens, and a skilled photographer, which gives me a deeper appreciation for framing, light, and visual storytelling—skills that inform how I approach each role from both sides of the camera. As I continue to grow in the film industry, I’m focused on taking on bold, meaningful roles in projects that reflect the diversity, strength, and complexity of African stories. I’m always eager to collaborate with filmmakers who value creative integrity and emotional truth.
