Symone Denwood

Symone Denwood is a dancer, choreographer, and teacher from Chicago, IL, currently processing a transition to Atlanta, GA. Symone graduated from the SUNY Purchase’s Conservatory of Dance, with a BFA in dance performance and a concentration in choreography in 2024. Starting her dance training in 2010, she quickly enveloped a love for the craft. Symone began taking classes at Indiana Ballet Theatre, auditioned for and graduated from The Chicago Academy For The Arts in 2020. She continues to train in Ballet, Pointe, Graham Technique, Horton Technique, Cunningham Technique, Contemporary, Floorwork, Contact Improvisation, Heels, and Hip Hop. She has attended a plethora of dance intensives such as Fort Wayne Ballet, Dance Works Chicago, and Alvin Ailey: Professional Division. She has performed in works choreographed by Randy Duncan, Nick Pupillo, Martha Graham, Gerald Arpino, George Balanchine, Alvin Ailey, Bill T Jones, Keenan Cooks (Netflix’s Dance100), and many more. Symone has performed principal roles such as Sugar Plum Fairy in the Chocolate Ballerina Company’s: Nutcracker Dipped In Chocolate in December 2024. Symone has been exploring her craft through choreography and grew a strong passion for it very early in her highschool career and has choreographed 6 original pieces. Symone is continuously striving to expand her artistic mind and vocabulary, to further share her passion and love of dance and choreography with the world.
