Ioana Damian

Hi there, and welcome to my corner of the internet, I’m Ioana, a professional actor currently based in Sydney, and flexible with travel. Storytelling has always been my first love, and acting is the way I bring it to life. I’ve trained professionally across Australia and New Zealand, diving deep into performance and character work through a mix of formal training and hands-on, intensive workshops. I've studied Stanislavski, Chekhov, Meisner, Clowning, Improv, and always find myself curious about 'the different ways in' for this craft. More recently, I’ve rolled up my sleeves and gotten stuck into some amazing creative projects: co-producing and starring in a few short films, writing my own screenplay, and constantly sharpening my skills through ongoing training (because hey, the work is never done!). Before going full-time into acting, I was on the other side of the camera; producing and directing TVCs. That experience taught me a lot about storytelling from a different angle: managing shoots, scouting locations, coaching talent, sticking to timelines (and budgets!). All of it gave me a great appreciation for the collaborative nature of this industry, and I bring that energy into every role I take on. So. much. respect. I’ve got a degree in Marketing and Commercial Law, over 20 years of Latin & Ballroom dance training (started when I was four – I promise I’m not ancient), and I speak English, Spanish, and Romanian. I’m passionate about telling meaningful stories, collaborating with great humans, and always finding new ways to grow in this wild and wonderful craft.
