Zara Dawson

My name is Zara Dawson, and I hold a Level 3 Diploma in Performing Arts from the Wilkes Academy of Performing Arts, where I had the privilege of training under some of the most respected and experienced professionals in the industry — including current West End performers and creative directors. My dance journey began at just three years old, when I first fell in love with the thrill of performing and the magic of being on stage. At the age of seven, I was offered my first professional contract as a juvenile dancer in Dick Whittington at the Regent Theatre alongside Jonathan Wilkes. I went on to perform in various pantomimes for ten consecutive years, working with both First Family Entertainment and Qdos Entertainment, which gave me invaluable stage experience and a strong professional foundation from a young age. At sixteen, I made the decision to move away from home to pursue full-time professional training at Wilkes Academy. My time there allowed me to grow not only as a dancer but also as a performer — developing my versatility across multiple styles including commercial, contemporary, jazz, musical theatre, ballet and tap. I also gained experience in singing and acting, which strengthened my overall performance skills and confidence within the industry. Since graduating, I have been fortunate to work on a variety of professional dance jobs, from corporate events and film and media productions to live stage performances. Alongside performing, I have also discovered a deep passion for teaching, where I can share my knowledge, experience, and love for dance with aspiring performers.
