‘Star Wars’ Adam Driver Reveals Amazing Tips for Aspiring Actors

Date:

Adam Driver shares amazing acting tips for aspiring actors.

Fans of the hit HBO series Girls may remember Adam Driver long before Star Wars. But, it was his role in Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, that made Driver a world-famous actor. Driver is signed on for at least Episode VIII, which is currently filming, and it is thought he will also reprise his role for Star Wars: Episode IX. However, Adam Driver didn’t always have the ambition to become an actor. In fact, he did not even have much ambition at all.

In a recent TED talk, Driver gave an eye-opening look into how he became a movie actor. Driver begins by saying he was devoid of ambition and joined the Marine Corps. That was right after 9/11 and he says, he was motivated to do something following the terrorist attack.

Driver admitted that he loved being in the Marines, but an injury meant he would never fight again with his platoon in Iraq. Driver then turned to acting and was accepted into Juilliard. Something he says changed his life forever.

“I felt myself becoming less aggressive as I was able to words to feelings for the first time, and realizing what a valuable tool that was,” he explains. He also goes on to talk about the founding of Arts in the Armed Forces, a non-profit organization which sends actors to perform for military audiences across the globe. “I can think of no better community to arm with a new means of self-expression that those protecting our country,” he says.
