Sayaka Yabuki

I was named after a superhero character who wears pink leathers, rides a pink motorcycle and turns into a robot that kicks ass, in a Japanese anime series called Mazinger-Z. I recently modeled as a bike passenger riding 2-up on an electric motorcycle in a promo video campaign for Zero Motorcycles. I'm Japanese American, a world traveler, performance artist, theatre actor, theatrical make-up artist, theatre/concert sound+light tech, DJ, violin/synthesizer/vocals, fashion model, studio photography model, art/music event curator, basic Japanese/English conversation interpreter. I've travelled extensively, making music appearances at underground events in big cities including NYC, Boston, Tokyo, Melbourne, San Francisco, and Miami. My Visual Arts undergrad studies at Brown included soundtracks and film, while I was a resident artist living at AS220 in Providence, RI. Also, I was a music studies scholarship recipient at Cabrillo College where I took classes in Music and Digital Media. As a young immigrant from Japan, I learned a lot of English by watching tv, and so grew up kinda obsessed with marketing ads, and that seems to have naturally fed into my early interest in videotaping and starring in self-produced tv and radio commercials with friends since I was a kid, some ideas included pizza radio ads and anti-theft system radio and video ads (Bad Motherf$##@ker Car Alarm). Martial arts experience include Japanese Kendo, this can come in handy just in case I ever get cast as a Jedi by Disney, lol. I like dancing and watching music videos. I can evoke a pretty wide range of emotions when performing. I'm rather into the wierd stuff, dark humor, adventure and sci-fi, any combination thereof.
