Established September 2001, Center for Pediatric Therapies became the first and continues to be the sole provider of physical, speech, occupational, and ABA therapy services focused on the pediatric population. CPT has expanded to house 4 locations within Danville, Lynchburg, Martinsville, and South Boston, Virginia. In addition, CPT provides school based and early intervention services throughout the Southside and Central Virginia regions as well as Roanoke City and surrounding counties. In August 2004, Center for Pediatric Therapies expanded to open Building Blocks Center for Children with Autism, a fully licensed and accredited private day school, established in Danville, VA, specifically for the treatment and education of children with autism spectrum disorders. In September 2020, Building Blocks second campus was opened in Forest, VA. Most recently, CPT has expanded to open their newest division, Center for Pediatric Counseling providing outpatient ABA services as well as mental health counseling for children and families throughout the Central VA region. Under the umbrella of CPT brands, CPT employs over 100 employees. As a sensory integration certified occupational therapist and business owner, Kristen Barker has served as a guest lecturer for the Doctorate Level Occupational Therapy Program-Radford University, for the Doctorate Level Physical Therapy Program-Lynchburg College, and for state level professional conferences.
