Short BIOSKETCH – MS. PATRICIA L. CHAVEZ Patricia L. Chavez, a native New Mexico business woman is owner of PLC Enterprises. Her specialties include: • Event/Conference & Meetings Management • Corporate & Community Relations • Government & Legislative Relations • Youth Programs & Entrepreneurship Advocacy • Leadership, Training & Development She graduated from Manzano High School in Albuquerque; earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Santa Clara in California and her Master’s degree from the University of Phoenix in Organizational Management. Her previous extensive and notable employment history includes high level positions with: HUD in DC, United States Forest Service and Department of Navy, in San Francisco; Department of Commerce in DC and the University of New Mexico. She was the Statewide Director of New Mexico’s MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, and Science Achievement) pre-college program (1987-94) and gained national recognition for NM MESA during her tenure. She also moved NM MESA’s deficit funding in 1987 to almost 1.5 million in 1994 while establishing statewide expansion with the program’s first matching legislative allocation. Patricia has served as a consultant to many organizations, including such clients as MAFO, Inc. (the National Collaborative of Farmworker organizations), Sparx/Lorenzo Antonio (A NM International Hispanic Foundation), NM MVD Express, Sodexho USA, etc. She was appointed to the Governor’s NM Economic Development Partnership Board, the Governor’s NM Commission for Community Volunteerism for 8 years as Outreach/Legislative Advocacy Chair, under 2 separate administrations, 4 State Executive Directors & 4 Commission Chairs and one National Term with the America’s Services Commissions. She currently is appointed by the Mayor to the ABQ Volunteer Services Board. She also volunteers with the St. Martin’s Shelter-Project Hope every week as their “Girl Friday” working in their clothing room. Patricia has received numerous awards.
