A prediction model predicts Hillary Clinton will become America’s next president.
According to a presidential prediction model released by the New York Times’ pollster the Upshot, Hillary Clinton has a 76 percent chance of winning the presidential election in November.
The study combines analysis of each states’ voting history with “roughly 300 state and national polls of the race” to output and graph all likely outcomes. According to theTimes, Clinton’s chance of losing “is about the same probability that an N.B.A. player will miss a free throw.”
The New York Times study suggests Clinton will have an easier path to the White house than Donald Trump because, she is a strong favorite in 15 states, which taken together total 186 of the total 270 electoral votes she needs to win.
If she can take home Michigan, New Mexico, Minnesota, Colorado, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Nevada, then she will become America’s next president.
While Donald Trump only has a 27 percent chance of winning, the New York Times reports that a lot can change in 16 weeks.
The study will be updated throughout the rest of the election as soon as more polling data becomes available. At the end of the day, this is either bad news or motivation for those currently attending the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio.
