Warner Bros. ‘Man of Steel’ Sequel Coming Soon

Date:

Man of Steel is headed back to theaters as Warner Bros. is reportedly working on a sequel.

After creating a cinematic universe in 2011 with Man of Steel, Warner Bros. then created Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, which expanded the movie franchise. And this weekend the world saw the follow-up to the Superman Reboot with the DC Extended Universe movie Suicide Squad. Currently, Justice League is now filming and several other DC universe movies are now in various stages of development. But now it appears that we may be getting a Man of Steel sequel after all.

According to The Wrap, Warner Bros. has now put Man of Steel 2 in development, making the first new movie in the DC extended universe since the studio first announced the list of new movies back in 2014. Details are currently unknown, but The Wrap cites sources saying Man of Steel 2 is a “top priority” for the studio, as is “getting the character right for audiences.”

This is pretty huge news, as it very much seemed as though Man of Steel sequel was never going to happen. The Zack Snyder directed movie was a hit, earning $668 million at the worldwide box office, but it wasn’t loved as much as the Christopher Nolan Batman movies.

However, Man of Steel 2 joins the long list of other superhero movies including the Ben Affleck directed Batman movie. And the new Man of Steel movie is expected to hit theaters after that Ben Affleck movie. But, who do you think should direct the new Man of Steel movie? George Lucas? Steven Spielberg? JJ Abrams? Leave us your thoughts in the comments below.
