About:
Michelle Rosales is a Mexican American dancer, choreographer, and actor whose work merges storytelling, movement, and character performance across stage, screen, and community spaces. A graduate of California State University, Long Beach with a B.A. in Dance and a minor in Sociology, Michelle brings a socially conscious lens to her artistry, exploring how performance can foster dialogue and reflection. Before transferring to CSULB, she earned her associate’s degree in Dance and Sociology from Long Beach City College, where she was featured as a student choreographer for the 2023 Faculty Dance Concert and presented her choreography at the American College Dance Association Regional Conference at UC Irvine. Michelle’s versatility has led her to perform in diverse settings—from museums and film sets to theaters and large-scale community events. She collaborated with Dimitri Chamblas and the L.A. Dance Project for Slow Show: Dance Reflections at MOCA, embodying movement as a living dialogue between art and audience. On screen, she has worked with Alessi Hartigan Casting Los Angeles as a background actor on projects including Ink & Paint/Oswald and Hurry Up Tomorrow, expanding her performance vocabulary for television and film. In 2025, Michelle appeared as both actor and dancer in Murder in the Martha B., a CSULB film directed by Gregory R.R. Crosby and produced by Maggie Ogle, showcasing her ability to blend physical storytelling with dramatic nuance. As a choreographer and performer, she continues to push boundaries through her ongoing work with The Garage Theatre’s Show ’N Tell series, which she co-directs, creating collaborative spaces for local artists to share original works. Currently, Michelle performs as Gigi, the beloved mascot at the Aquarium of the Pacific, where she brings character-driven performance to life for thousands of guests during special events such as the Aquarium of the Pacific 5K Opening Performance. Her work at the Aquarium reflects her dedication to using performance as a means of joy, connection, and community engagement. Across every medium—whether dancing under stage lights, embodying a character on screen, or creating choreography that sparks conversation—Michelle Rosales remains committed to art that bridges movement, identity, and social consciousness.
