About:
My name is Raychaz Gray, and I’m a 33-year-old medically retired Army veteran with a deep passion for music and the performing arts. My love for the stage began early—I first performed as a teen in the musical Dumbo. Throughout high school, I excelled in both show choir and chorus, often standing out as a lead vocalist.
Recently, I had the honor of performing in the first-ever all-Black cast production of The Color Purple at the Arabian Theatre in Laurel, Mississippi, where I played Grady, Shug Avery’s husband, and was also part of the ensemble.
I’m currently a freshman at The Winters School of Music at William Carey University, pursuing my passion for music and working toward becoming a music teacher.
A fun fact about me: I love writing poetry and often turn my poems into songs, combining my love for storytelling and music into one creative expression.
