Brooke Zide

Brooke Zide has developed a strong passion for dance since a young age. She is currently based in Boston as a fourth-year Contemporary Dance major at Boston Conservatory. Her early training began in Richmond, Virginia at the Richmond Ballet, where she developed a strong technical foundation, complemented by her experience at a competitive dance studio that exposed her to a diverse range of movement styles. She learned from many teachers including Jerry Kumery, Ma Cong, Cecile Tuzii, Tara Penick and many others. Throughout her training, Brooke has immersed herself in various styles, including ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop, improvisation, and many other styles allowing her to cultivate her dynamic and expressive artistry. In high school, Brooke would choreograph for the dance program as well as teach and produce the shows. She also held a leadership position her senior year which involved management, teaching, choreographing, and other roles. At the Richmond Ballet, Brooke acted as a teachers’ assistant for younger students before going to college. Now pursuing her degree, she continues to refine her craft, pushing creative boundaries and expanding her performance repertoire. Brooke works as an auditions' assistant for the dance auditions that are held at Boston Conservatory. In her time at the school, she has performed works by Andrew Skeels, Da’ruis Malone, and other emerging choreographers. Over her summers, she has also gotten the opportunity to train with different companies including Hubbard Street, Alvin Ailey, and others. With a passion for both movement and storytelling, Brooke aspires to contribute to the evolving landscape of contemporary dance through performance, choreography, and collaboration. Brooke is also very interested in modeling and doing commercials. When she was younger, she used to model and do many different commercials and she thoroughly enjoyed it. She would love to get to step back into modeling if the opportunity were to arise.
