Chris Pratt Reveals How He Survived As a Struggling Actor

Date:

Chris Pratt did some pretty desperate things to keep from going hungry back when he was struggling to make it as an actor.

In a clip from The Graham Norton Show which aired on BBC in the United Kingdom, the actor talked about how he used to wait tables at a “terrible restaurant” in Beverly Hills.

Unfortunately the tips were not very good, so he would eat the leftovers off of the plates of customers because he wasn’t making enough to buy his own food.

Pratt shared one story of how he nearly got caught by one customer. Apparently, the young actor panicked when a woman surprised him by asking for a doggy bag after he had already eaten the remaining 14 ounces of the 32 ounce porterhouse steak.

It worked out well for him in the end. He made up a story about it being thrown out and then had the cook make a new one. Lucky for him the women had to leave before it was done, so he was able to get an extra meal that day.

It’s crazy to think that Pratt, one of Hollywood’s biggest actors, went from living on the streets to being worth nearly $30 million.
