Meredith Kearns

I’m currently a registered nurse who really misses the entertainment industry. Growing up I attended a performing arts middle school majoring in Vocal Performance then left to attend public high school where I was able to not only be in Show Choir, but also drama and dance team. Following my high school days, I was a member of The Young Americans which was a non-profit performing arts group based in CA which promoted arts education in schools. After doing that for two years, I had to go to college. I majored in Business Management with a minor in Music (Voice) in the hopes of getting into Arts Management. Well…that didn’t happen. I graduated when the economy crashed, and reality set in. I needed a job that was stable and offered benefits, especially health insurance. So I went back to school for nursing. I’ve been doing this now for the past 12 years. I started out in Ortho/Trauma Med/Surg followed by 8.5 years in the Emergency Department and now almost 2 years in Interventional Radiology, and it just doesn’t feed the soul in the same way that performing does. Last year I was lucky enough to get cast in my first play in 13 years (wow) in my hometown of Charleston, SC. I played the mother in A Christmas Story which has always been one of my all time favorite Christmas movies. I loved every second of it, and I would love to be able to continue getting back into the performing world that I’ve always loved so much!
