As we pointed out yesterday, Hidden Figures is on fire and the movie’s secret to success is making sure everyone can see the amazing feature film.
According to reports, Octavia Spencer bought out a theater so low-income families can see Hidden Figures.
“My mom would not have been able to afford to take me and my siblings. So, I’m honoring her and all single parents this #mlkweekend,” Spencer, 46, announced on Instagram over the weekend.
“If you know a family in need that would like to see our movie but can’t afford it have them come,” she wrote. “It’s first come first served.”
Spencer’s gift to low-income families took place on Friday at the Rave Baldwin Hills theater. It was such an amazing gesture even the leading lady, Taraji P. Henson shared the post on her Instagram page adding, “This is how phenomenal this woman is,” Henson wrote.
