Job Description
A powerful coming-of-age short film is now casting for two lead teen roles. The story follows Marco, a shy teen who joins a lifeguard training course and develops a heartfelt connection with his classmate, Xavier. As they train together, Marco’s confidence grows, and a bond blossoms between them—challenging both to confront their identities, fears, and feelings. This emotionally rich queer narrative explores themes of friendship, identity, and vulnerability, all set against the backdrop of aquatic training.
Job Responsibilities
• Portray emotionally layered characters in a character-driven short film
• Participate in water-based scenes including CPR and in-water drills
• Collaborate with cast and crew during swim training and rehearsals
• Embrace physicality in performance, including scenes in swimwear and shirtless appearances
• Comfortably engage in scenes exploring queer themes and a brief, intimate kiss
Requirements
• Must be confident swimmers and provide a swim test video or verified proof of swim training
• Must be able to portray ages 16–18 (actors must be 18+)
• Comfortable performing in swimwear and shirtless as part of character portrayal
• Strong emotional range and ability to communicate internal conflict
• Open to talent of all ethnicities
Compensation
• Principal Role: $249.66 per 8-hour shoot day (+ fringes + HST if applicable) or $445 flat (TBD)
• Actor Role: $209.60 per 8-hour shoot day (+ fringes + HST if applicable) or $445 flat (TBD)
• Fitting (if required): $36.00/hour for a minimum of 2 hours (+ fringes + HST if applicable)
• Union paid based on ACTRA Tier 3 LBG rates
