Sofia Davis is the Chief Executive Publisher of Fashion Avenue News, Model World Magazine and The Fashion Dynasty magazines. She is also a successful Fashion Week Show Producer and designer for The House of Sofia Couture. She is a graduate of The Fashion Institute of Technology. With an energy matched only by Oprah. Sofia has loved fashion from the time she could reach the Chanel No. 5 on her mother’s dresser. Before attending FIT, she won the Uptown Saturday Night evening wear designer award with a Black Feathered “Bob Mackie” type Cocktail Dress.
Sofia noticed a need in the Fashion Industry to include models of all sizes, heights and weights. She came to the attention of a Producer from the World Famous Apollo Theater and was hired as Director of the Apollo Models. She held that title for 10 years. While at the Apollo she created BTE TV (Beauty Television & Entertainment). The Fashion TV show aired daily on Time Warner Cable Commercial reaching an audience of approximately 450,000 viewers.
Constantly looking to improve the opportunities for models, in 2006, she began publishing Fashion Avenue News magazine. A GLOBAL, LUXURY MAGAZINE, different from the rest. She would feature UNKNOWN models of all sizes on the cover and in the editorials. This was an instant hit, and got her a segment on GERMANY’S NEXT TOP MODEL, where one of the winners got the cover of Fashion Avenue News.
With the growth of Fashion Avenue News, from 0 to 880,00 (email subscribers) a few years later she created Model World Magazine, a publication that focuses on models and their careers, a year after that she created The Fashion Dynasty, a lifestyle magazine that features numerous topics and editorials. All of the publication can be purchased on Magzter.com, which is the largest global digital publication platform, reaching 46 MILLION as well as on www.FashionAvenueNews.com
For the past 25 years she has produced Fashion on the Hudson, an independent Fashion Industry show similar to NY Fashion Week. This show, now in its 23 year, registered over 32,000 attendees last year.
Sofia is also known as the Black Anna Wintour and the First Lady of Fashion – always wearing her signature bling Sunglasses. This lead her to create Bling Darling, a collection of rhinestone embellished couture Sunglasses, for people that love Bling.

Job Description
A luxury fashion editorial shoot is looking for three talented and creative makeup artists for a high-profile TFP (Time for Print) collaboration in Midtown Manhattan. This is an opportunity to build your professional portfolio while contributing to a fashion-forward concept. The shoot will take place in a dynamic and elegant setting, emphasizing bold, editorial makeup looks that highlight artistry and technique.
Job Responsibilities
- Apply high-impact, editorial-style makeup in line with creative direction
- Collaborate with stylists, photographers, and models on-set
- Ensure timely execution and touch-ups throughout the shoot
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of makeup tools and products
Requirements
- Experience with editorial, runway, or print beauty looks
- Strong knowledge of skin tones, blending techniques, and color theory
- Must be available from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM in Midtown Manhattan
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
